With the 2018 collection we provide gear for all types of weather conditions, but what should you pick when the circumstances are constantly changing? Learn more about the best products in our monthly Tech Update!
Magic Marine stands for performance based sailing gear covering a wide range of disciplines, not only in wetsuits for professional sailors and full weather gear for those who spend their weekends training or sailing regattas. Also in boots and gloves for every type of sailor we are pushing hard to be one step ahead in recognising the range of conditions sailors are exposed to; where faster sailing, longer sessions and more extreme weather is experienced. We improved almost our entire range of gloves for the new 2018 collection.
One of our most experienced all-round ambassadors is Carolijn Brouwer from The Netherlands. Olympic Sailing, Volvo Ocean Races, Foiling Catamarans, she does it all. Currently Carolijn is part of the Volvo Ocean Race as crew member of the DongFeng Race Team and never steps on board without her Ultimate Gloves:
"The Volvo Ocean Race is extreme in every way. It’s physically and mentally very demanding. With my Magic Marine gloves at least I know my hands are safe. The gloves are strong, long lasting and comfortable. I never start a leg or in-port race without them.”
FOR WARM AND COMFY HANDS
In most parts of the world the weather is getting warmer and sunnier, but early season chilly water temperatures still make you want to wear gloves to keep your hands comfortably warm. The renewed gloves in the Magic Marine 2018 collection which are perfect for colder weather are the Sinc Outdry Gloves and our warmest winter gloves; the Frost Neoprene Gloves for freezing days.
The Sinc Outdry Gloves have the following features: a HAR shield palm for grip and strength, palm overlays sewn with Kevlar® thread, Velcro® closure strap, elasticized wrist and reflective details. Special about the OutDry system is the patented lamination process. The waterproof and breathable membrane is bonded directly to the external glove’s shell by the action of pressure and temperature, creating a unique body which seals the stitching and any other potential water entry point.
The best gloves for freezing conditions are the Frost Neoprene Gloves with a HAR shield palm for grip and strength, palm overlays sewn with Kevlar® thread, they are pre curved for less bulk on the inside, they have a silicon printed inner cuff, elasticized wrists, Velcro closure strap and reflective details. When you really want to make sure your hands never freeze again while sailing you could even wear our Bipoly Base Layer Gloves underneath any other glove.
